“I like to build things,” is Jody’s mantra. And her career path has demonstrated that she’s totally fearless when it comes to taking on business-building challenges. She went to work in the cable television advertising business when most people still believed the TV world began and ended with the alphabet networks! And now she’s at the forefront of building the best internet/interactive media planning and buying unit in America: U.S. Interactive.
Jody began her advertising career at the Draper Daniels agency in Chicago where she wrote copy, worked in account services, helped with accounting and planned and bought media, which became her passion. She moved over to the vendor side, where she eventually held senior sales management positions at the Tribune Company, Cox Communications and MMT Sales before joining National Cable Communications in Los Angeles as Western Region Vice President, expanding that operation into a 200 person division with offices extending from Seattle to Dallas.
Jody loves online because of its targetability and accountability. U.S. International provides a wealth of data to clients: when an online ad is responded to (and by whom); which creative works (or doesn’t) and more. That leads to ever-more-productive results, making every budget dollar work that much harder. And since the online world is incredibly dynamic, Jody and her staff make it their business to attend key conferences to stay ahead of the learning curve … which helps put U.S. Interactive’s clients in the enviable position of being able to take advantage of new technologies as they’re developed.
A true believer in getting involved and giving back, Jody is involved in local politics, is a certified Business Coach and she and her husband are very involved animal rescuers. (Want a cute kitten?)
