Gail Scott
Senior Vice President, Director of Media/Southeast Division

Gail Scott is a true Daughter of the South. Born and raised in Savannah, educated at Georgia Southern University, soft spoken and polite, it’s almost as though she stepped out of the pages of Gone With the Wind and into the media business! Like Scarlett O’Hara, she’s tenacious. And unlike Rhett Butler, she always gives a damn!

Gail started her advertising career in 1977 at John Scott and Others, an agency in Chicago owned by her brother. “I was the ‘Other,’” she says laughing. “It was a great way to learn the business from the ground up. I did a little of everything, but quickly developed a fascination for media.” In 1982 she returned to her southern roots as in-house media buyer at Aaron Rents in Atlanta and four years later, Gail joined Dennis Holt’s Western International Media (now Initiative) when it opened its Atlanta office. During her 21 years there she headed up the buying team responsible for all broadcast placements in the southeast as well as for all radio activity for the eastern half of the U.S. Her clients have included BellSouth, The Home Depot, Hardee’s, Quizno’s, National City Bank, Coor’s, Buena Vista, Walt Disney World, Denny’s, Popeyes, AmSouth Bank and Rhodes Furniture.

Besides being a media icon throughout the Southeast, she is also very active in the advertising community.

Gail is a member of the Atlanta branch of AWRT (American Women in Radio & Television) and is active in the broadcast advertising community. She was the recipient of the 2007 AIR Award for “Friend of Radio” in the Atlanta Radio Community. When she isn’t helping her clients grow their business, she loves–as one may expect–tending to her garden … making beautiful flowers grow!
