About once a year there’s a news report about some guy who decides to camp out on a billboard above the Sunset Strip for a week or two as a promotion for something or other. Those of us who know Dave are always surprised it isn’t him, ‘cause this is a guy who LOVES billboards! And bus shelters, transit ads, bus sides, taxi-tops, floor media and even telephone calling card ads. He is Mr. Out-of-Home.
Dave spent the early part of his advertising career in research, first at Mattel, and later as Director of Research at Y&R. In 1980 he was asked by Dennis Holt to join his burgeoning Western International Media empire, where he held key posts in client service and later headed their out-of-home unit, handling planning and buying for all of Disney’s many divisions. In 1999 David joined Delta Outdoor Media as Director of New Business Development and Southern California representative. David was Dennis’ obvious choice to head U.S. Outdoor because of his tireless professionalism and hands-on approach to client service.
