Dennis Holt

Dennis Holt is one of the advertising industry's true innovators.

He literally invented the idea of unbundling media, which has become the business model for the entire industry across the globe. He founded Western International Media (now Initiative), which grew to become the largest media buying entity in the world. He co-founded Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles (formerly Advertising Industry Emergency Fund), a charitable organization that supports advertising people facing tough times. Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles is a volunteer organization comprised of advertising and promotions industry professionals who have united to help their colleagues in times of life crisis. The non-profit organization helps people get back on their feet. Since its formation over 30 years ago, Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles has distributed more than $2 million to hundreds of individuals in the Southern California advertising and promotions community.

He was the recipient of the Horatio Alger Award, which honors the achievements of outstanding individuals in our society who have succeeded in spite of adversity and who go on to encourage young people to pursue their dreams through higher education. He somehow or other finds the time to call everyone he knows on their birthday, always has a great joke to share, and, most importantly, is a fearless entrepreneur who has learned that you will hardly ever go wrong if you stay client focused, recognizing that "all business is personal."

Doug Livingston

Doug Livingston is responsible for USIM’s day-to-day operations, working with the company’s planning, buying, client services, and financial teams. In addition, he oversees Patriot Communications, an industry leading provider of interactive telecommunications, database management, and Internet solutions. Clients include NBC Universal, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, American Red Cross, Curves International, and Bally Total Fitness.

The American Red Cross has publicly recognized Doug for his leadership and Patriot’s dedicated efforts in response to worldwide disasters, including the devastating Haiti earthquake, Hurricane Katrina, the Asian Tsunami, and the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

Doug holds both Business Administration and Communications degrees from the University of Southern California.

Jack Silver

Jack Silver is a constant reminder to his colleagues, clients, and friends that no matter how difficult, trying, frantic, or crazy a business situation gets, "calm leadership" will nearly always win the day. Jack embodies U.S. International Media’s personalized client-service culture. He's calm because he knows what he’s doing.

A media veteran with more than 30-years' experience, Jack began his advertising career at Sears' in-house broadcast agency in Los Angeles, rapidly advancing to the position of Director of Broadcast Advertising for their West Coast region. A very early advocate of multicultural advertising, Jack developed Sears' first Hispanic marketing/media campaign, a program that was later rolled-out nationally.

Jack left Sears to join J. Walter Thompson L.A; three years later, he was tapped by Dennis Holt to join Western International Media (now Initiative Media) in 1983, and never looked back. During his 20-years at Western International Media, he worked with such clients as The Home Depot, In-N-Out Burger, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, Stater Bros. supermarkets, "and half the hotel/casino accounts in Las Vegas." Additionally, Jack founded Western’s Multicultural Group, which grew to become the largest purchaser of ethnic media in the U.S. His management and administrative skills led to his being named Executive Vice-President and Director of Account Services for Western, with responsibility for 15 offices (and more than 150 account service people) across the country.

In his current post Jack is able to do what he does best: help clients grow their business with the aid of smart, efficient media campaigns.

Russell Zingale
President, Eastern Region

Russell Zingale is truly a media professional and brings to U.S. International Media a wealth of experience. Russell comes to USIM from Media Storm, Inc., where he was Managing Director. He joins USIM as President, Eastern Region, based in New York City.

Russell is a 20-plus year veteran in the media industry, having spent the majority of his career developing strategy and running media planning teams. Prior to launching Carat Affiliates, Russell held management positions at Western International Media/Initiative Media, where he worked on clients such as Applebee's, Goya, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and AOL, among a list of others.

Prior to his 14-year tenure at Western International Media/Initiative Media, Russell held planning positions at agencies Backer, Spievogel Bates and Wells, Rich Greene, managing accounts such as Proctor & Gamble, U.S. Navy, CPC, Avis Rent-a-Car and others. His years of experience also include being Director of Business Development for Carat, where he oversaw new business efforts across the U.S., and interacted with the various Aegis (non-Carat) divisions, as well as Carat International. His role in business development included new business prospecting as well as existing account expansion.

As the Managing Director of Carat Affiliates, Russell managed accounts such as Marriott International, Viacom Networks, TOUS, Ernst & Young, New York University, Land O’ Lakes, and many more.

Russell is a graduate of St. John’s University, and lives with his wife and two children in Wilton, Connecticut.

Eran Goren
President, US Interactive Media

Prior to joining US Interactive Media, Eran Goren was responsible for leading sourceOut, Inc.'s overall strategy, vision, and aggressive growth prior to its acquisition by Red McCombs Media, at which point he served as President of the affiliate division and managing the integration of both companies.

Before founding sourceOut, he directed the sales team for iVenturi, a software company spun-off by Dow Chemical and Andersen Consulting. He has also served as Vice President of Business Development at Ontero, a Web Portal provider, acted as a Director of Sales at LapJack Systems, a data security application, and developed and managed projects among some of the largest financial firms, such as Salomon Smith Barney and Providian Financial.

Eran holds both Finance and Management Information Systems degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.

Alicia Nelson

Ask any broadcast rep or manager, and they'll smile (ruefully), and tell you that no matter how low the price, or how good the added-value deal was they put on the table, Alicia’s inevitable reaction is, "try harder." And they do. Which is why she’s been able to save tens of millions of dollars for her clients as one of the savviest broadcast buyers in the industry.

Alicia started her media career as a sales assistant at a Los Angeles radio station. She joined Western International Media (now Initiative) as an Assistant Buyer in 1976, working her way up to Group Broadcast Buying Director handling many of the agency’s largest accounts, including Chevrolet, Denny’s, 7UP and US Airlines. Seeking new challenges and responsibilities, in the early 1990's she transferred to the client service department, managing national accounts including UPN, Acura, Yahoo, Albertson’s and Skytel. Her success in client service led to her being promoted to Executive Vice President of the company’s Initiative Partners division, where her responsibilities included oversight of more than 100 accounts in the western half of the U.S.

But first and foremost, buying is in Alicia’s blood, and when Dennis Holt formed U.S. International Media, she jumped at the chance to be a part of it, much to the happiness of our clients!

Alicia was recognized by the American Women in Radio & Television as the 2006 recipient of the prestigious Excellence in Advertising Management Genii award.

Dot DiLorenzo
Executive Vice President, Director of Planning

Successful people are often described as exceeding expectations and that is Dot DiLorenzo's trademark. As Executive Vice President, Director of Planning, Dot brings her inspirational energy, enthusiasm and extensive media experience to U.S. International Media.

With experience at full-service agencies like O&M and JWT, media-management companies like Initiative and Carat, and with responsibilities for digital and traditional media under her belt, Dot is perfectly suited to help the wide array of USIM's clients craft communication strategies that advance the "big idea" from inception through successful execution.

In addition to loving her job that's reunited her with former co-workers who are "best in class", Dot loves traveling to remote corners of the world to dive, learn a new language & sample unique culinary delights.

Dot holds an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University.

Leila Winick
Executive Vice President, U.S. Multicultural Group

Raised in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, Leila speaks five languages. Six if you include media! A pioneer in the creation and development of the U. S. Hispanic advertising industry, Leila is recognized as one of the top multicultural media specialists in the country. Leila helped launch Western International Media’s (now Initiative) Multicultural Group, and, as President, helped grow that division into one of the largest multicultural buyers in the business.

Recognizing the importance of emerging immigrant populations, she expanded the group beyond Hispanic target marketing to also include specialist teams on Asian, African American and Gay and Lesbian media, servicing such accounts as the California Lottery, Honda, Disney, Major League Soccer, Showtime and No-Nonsense. Earlier in her career she held senior positions at Ferrr/Ad Americas, Conill Advertising, J. Walter Thompson/Hispania, McCann Erickson/La Agencia, AC&R/Rossi and Siboney, where she gained valuable experience on such accounts as McDonalds (corporate and regional), Sheraton, Tecate, Ralphs Grocery, Chief Auto Parts and Toyota. Most recently, she was Partner/Executive Media Director at Muse Communications, where her accounts included the U.S. Army, Wells Fargo, Heineken, Westfield Malls and American Honda.

Steve Berger
President, Patriot Media Group

Steve Berger is an accomplished senior advertising and marketing executive with over 35-years experience in management, new business development, acquisitions and mergers.

Prior to becoming President of US Int’l Media’s, Patriot Media division, Steve oversaw all sales efforts for TV10s. He has worked extensively with all major television studios and program distributors, as well as many Fortune 500 advertisers and challenger brands.

Steve was the VP/COO for Initiative Media’s PIC-TV, before he and a group of employees acquired PIC-TV in 2007; the company was renamed PIC Media Group and Steve was named President/CEO.

In 1984, Steve created Promotional Broadcast Services for Western International Media. PBS became the leader in 10-second promotional spots and closed caption sponsorship sales.

Steve holds a Master of Science degree in Communications from Illinois State University and views his greatest accomplishments as his daughter Jenna (26) and son Sam (23).

Sherry Catchpole
Executive Vice President, Operations

Sherry Catchpole oversees the company’s operational units, including billing, IT, and Human Resources. She is also responsible for managing executive priorities, alignment and strategy.

Sherry drives efforts to create a team culture and deliver an employee experience that helps fuel the company’s incredible growth. She sets a high bar for customer service by training & enabling her staff to provide personalized customer service to every client. Her experience in the media industry began in 1989 when she joined Western International Media, founded by Dennis Holt.

Sherry is also an initial founder of Patriot Communications, the company’s specialty telecommunications division.

Sixto Castillo
Executive Vice President, Finance & Accounting

Sixto Castillo oversees the company’s finance and accounting responsibilities. He is a graduate from La Consolacion College (Philippines) and holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting.
