Broadcasting TV advertising dropped 12.8 percent in the second quarter 2009, versus the same period a year ago, according to the Television Bureau of Advertising. Total advertising equaled $9.6 billion for the three months ended June 30, 2009, compared to $11.0 billion one year earlier. Which advertising business took the biggest financial thumping? Local broadcast TV, which was down by 26.3 percent. Additionally, network TV was down 6.9 percent for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 and syndicated TV was down by 1.5 percent.
